I’m a science writer interested in an unruly assortment of topics — the environment, education, and neuroscience, to name a few. I’ve also written about octogenarian war brides, disappearing languages, and many other subjects. If I neglect to write I’m likely out on the river.
I received my master’s degree in Science Writing from Johns Hopkins University, and my BA in Science and Technology Studies from Brown University. I’ve worked as an intern at High Country News and now work for Science magazine in Washington, DC. You can view my resume here.

Hey, I just read your article on smart rocks in Science, and I just wanted to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I really appreciated the style, and found myself chuckling out loud to myself. I hope to see more in the future.
